New Songs and Stories Added to Envision Networks®’ 2017 Holiday Countdown

(OCTOBER 2017) – Envision Networks® is getting in the holiday spirit this year with the 2017 updated edition of their award-winning 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time, the ten-hour radio countdown special hosted, as ever, by beloved TV icon Wink Martindale.  The 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time has become an annual tradition over more than 100 stations around the world as it’s become their holiday gift to loyal listeners – and a proven way to spike ratings.  Once again, Wink will count down everyone’s favorite Yuletide hits from 100 to #1.  And there’s so much more!

This compelling countdown removes station stress in planning holiday programming and creates valuable sponsorship opportunities for ongoing and new advertisers. There are three four-minute commercial breaks per hour, providing a total of 12 minutes of local commercial avails each hour for stations to sell.

Updated to include not just the classics but the latest holiday gems, The 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time is based on data compiled by Billboard Magazine and listings of the Christmas tracks most played on radio in recent years.  This compilation includes hit singles as well as key tracks from the best-loved, best-selling and highest charting Christmas albums ever made.

Every form of Yuletide music is part of this special, from the Santa/Frosty/Rudolph fantasy songs (like Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”), tunes of romantic nostalgia (such as Josh Groban’s “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”) and beloved carols (like Whitney Houston’s “Joy To The World”).  New track additions this year include (by popular demand!) The New Christy Minstrels’ definite 1966 version of “We Need a Little Christmas,” Shakin’ Stevens’ #1 UK hit  “Merry Christmas Everybody,” Chuck Berry’s 1958 classic “Run Rudolph Run,” Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood live in concert at Disneyland with “Marshmallow World,” Dolly Parton’s movie memory “Hard Candy Christmas,” “Hallelujah” from Pentatonix’s 2016 Christmas TV special, N*Sync’s “Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays,” Jordan Smith (the winner of “The Voice” season 9 with “O Holy Night” and even “Family Guy” creator (and primary voice artist) Seth McFarlane crooning “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve.”  And that’s just a few new adds.  It may be winter outside, but you’ll find over these ten unforgettable hours the fun, frolic and heartfelt warmth of the most beloved season of them all.

Filling out each hour are a handful of “bonus tracks” – other beloved Yuletide gems guaranteed to make you laugh, move your heart or rekindle your life’s fondest memories. Wink Martindale – plus the stars who made the music magic — supply the stories behind every Yuletide gem throughout this beloved 10-hour countdown.  More than 160 stars offer Yuletide greetings plus insightful commentary.  And who are they?  Well, here’s just a sampling:
