Exclusive Audio as Rock Legend Joins Envision Networks® Paul Shaffer’s Day in Rock
On Thursday, March 3, legendary singer-songwriter and producer Phil Collins, best known as the drummer and lead singer in the rock band Genesis and as a solo artist, joined Paul Shaffer for an exclusive interview on Paul Shaffer’s Day in Rock. The feature aired on affiliate stations throughout the country and can be heard online at http://bit.ly/1UEYJI5. An extended interview is available online at www.PaulShaffersDayInRock.com. In the extended interview, Collins discusses reissues of his solo work, his feelings about taking over as lead singer for Genesis and the potential for a Genesis reunion.
“I really don’t know. I’ve learned that I shouldn’t close any door because I’m constantly being reminded that I said I wouldn’t do anything else and here I am talking on the radio to you. Anything’s possible,” Collins said of a reunion.
He is currently promoting his “Take A Look At Me Now” campaign where he is reissuing all eight of his albums in extended and remastered editions. The first two releases, Face Value and Both Sides, are available now through Amazon.com.
“The record company came to me two or three years ago and said they wanted to reissue the catalog and I said ‘Whoa whoa whoa, I don’t want to do that unless there’s something new with it,’” Collins said. “They agreed to put the second CD with every album of live material. [It’s] live material that I chose that relates to the songs on the record and also some demos, which people wouldn’t have heard, or rare stuff.”
